About Stiles

Hey, I’m Lauren, the heart, hands, and slightly chaotic creative behind Stiles.

I started Stiles because I couldn’t find clothing that felt like me. I wanted pieces that were colourful, expressive, a little unexpected and full of personality. The kind of clothes that make you smile when you put them on and make someone else stop and say, “Where did you get that?”

That’s what Stiles is all about.

Our pieces are designed to help you exist loudly. To feel confident, comfortable, creative and completely yourself, whether you’re running errands, meeting friends, travelling, or dancing in your kitchen.

My journey began in 2018 with an upcycling business called Hotdamnitstextiles, where I transformed thrifted and pre-loved garments into something new. That experience taught me that fashion doesn’t have to be fast to be exciting, and that thoughtful design can be both playful and responsible.

In 2022, Stiles was born.

Today, every collection is created with intention. We work with local seamstresses, collaborate with South African creatives, use deadstock and locally sourced fabrics where possible and produce in small batches to avoid unnecessary waste. Slow fashion isn’t about being perfect. It’s about making better choices, one garment at a time.

But more than anything, Stiles is about people.

It’s about celebrating individuality, supporting local talent and creating clothing that feels joyful, wearable and made to last. I want every piece to feel like a little reminder that you don’t have to shrink yourself to fit in.

You can wear colour. You can wear the funky pants. You can be a little bit extra.
